Epitomizing the golden era of airline travel this elegant flying boat first flew on July 7th, 1938. The first 314 Clipper entered service with Pan AM in January 1939 flying between Honolulu and Hong Kong. This model represents the Yankee Clipper. A total of 12 Boeing 314's were built. Their time serving as luxury commercial airliners lasted less than three years being cut short by America's entry into WWII. The last 314's were retired in 1946.
