The USAF needed a new air superiority fighter to succeed the F-15 Eagle. The Advanced Tactical Fighter program was created and the aircraft was assembled using (by weight) 24% composite material, 39% titanium, 16% aluminum, and 1% thermoplastic. This resulted in the F-22's lightweight, which makes it a remarkably maneuverable and exceedingly fast aircraft that utilizes stealth technology.
This 1/72 scale diecast model from Air Force 1 represents an F-22A Raptor belonging to the 325th Fightr Wing, 43rd Fighter Squadron "Hornets" Tyndall AFB, Florida in July 2006. Air Force 1 has replicated the Raptor with great detail to render the beauty and majesty of the aircraft with the utmost care for accuracy and quality. Display stand included.
