Assemblage Mural by Joe Nix Puzzle

19.25" x 26.625" 500-piece puzzle by muralist Joe Nix. Made in the USA.

Inspired by the aircraft on display in The Museum of Flight, muralist Joe Nix explored the connection between aviation's technicality and beauty. Nix used latex paint hand-brushed onto the wall. The images featured in the mural were inspired by his explorations around the Museum and should be recognizable as some of the iconic artifacts from the Museum's collection.

Nix is a Seattle-based artist who was raised in Puget Sound. He is proud to be the son and grandson of Naval engineers, and his artistic inspiration stems from these personal connections to the history of Seattle.

Nix was brought up amidst the mechanical orchestra in engine rooms, where he watched steel and wood come to life. In his artwork, painting assemblages of engine parts, he highlights the delicate and resilient components that keep machines running. "Change is inevitable, but it would be irresponsible to discard it all," Nix notes. "Old engines don't break; the simply need a little love and fine tuning."

Joe Nix's Assemblage was created at The Museum of Flight during our Art+Flight exhibition. In the mural, Joe Nix explores the connection between aviation's technicality and beauty. Learn more about Assemblage and Joe Nix.
